Spring and I had the chance to get away for Valentine's Day this past weekend. We found a nice place just outside of Mount Rainier National Park. For those of you wondering, yes, we did go on a hike. Some of the pictures are from that hike. The weekend was a chance to slow down, enjoy time with each other away from our norm, and enjoy time together in God's creation.
This weekend I was full of Gratitude.
I was grateful for the time away with Spring and the chance to spend some time together before a busy couple months in our lives.
I was grateful for God's love and that he has always been there with me.
I was grateful that God brought Spring and I together.
I was grateful for the beautiful weather we had the whole weekend.
I was grateful for the awesome children God has blessed me with in Emma and Audrey.
I was grateful for my parents for first introducing me to the Mount Rainier area almost 23 years ago and planting that desire to experience more of the PNW.
I was grateful for the amazing job God has blessed me with at KidZ at Heart and that I get to work with an amazing community with some of my closest friends.
And the list went on and on ...
In the business of the day to day, it is easy for me to take all of the things above, and more, for granted. Yesterday was one of those days. I was overwhelmed with everything I had to do and get done. And honestly, I was starting to get really stressed and anxious about it all. I knew I really had to take a step back and remember this weekend, remember everything I am grateful for. Doing that helped to put things back into perspective and bring down my stress level.
How about you? Do you find it easy to take for granted the many people, things, and circumstances God has blessed you with? Take a step back. Take a minute. Reflect on what you are grateful for. Express that gratitude to God and others. This time will help bring things in perspective.
